Ecotopia is hosted by Zajezka collective.

The camp will be on a big meadow in Zaježová, in the middle of mountains called Javorie, in the centre of Slovakia approximately 15 km SE from city Zvolen.

In the 1980's enthusiasts of traditional culture settled themselves in the empty farmhouses. Different initiatives sprung out of the community while seeking the solution of the socio-ecological crisis facing the society.

Since 1994 the organization Society for Harmonious Living (PHZ) has Zaježova as its base. The PHZ supports the efforts of individuals and groups, who not only by discussion but also with their own way of living, search for the meaning of the phrase "sustainable life". It's activities are based on the idea "think globally, act locally" and through them PHZ tries to awaken the interest in social and environmental problems of the contemporary world as well as in finding possible solutions for those problems. And apart from all this, Zaježova is hosting courses in traditional crafts and is a playground for those interested in forms of alternative building.

While spending time in Zvolen, you can refresh yourself by drinking the natural mineral water (contains iron), its streem is just next to the station on the right side. Nice place to visit is Zvolen castle (from the station go to the right 10 min. you will see it in front of you), where you will find in the yard the cosy tearoom.
