Art and Activism
This years theme is based around Art and Activism.
Art can provide a space for dissent, formulating critiques, where alternatives are discovered..It can inspire us to become active in many diverse ways. It is powerful tool, in which to express and highlight social and environmental issues in creative ways.
Both art and activism can come in every form, and by having a diverse mix, it is an opportunity to gain interesting ideas and inspiration.
We are asking individuals, groups, networks to bring a workshop to Ecotopia. It is only from each other we will learn. It is open to any possibilities and help with sourcing materials, just let us know.
Also arriving at Ecotopia is a caravan of artists from all over Europe. The caravan starts in Athens in Greece on June 4th, then travels to arrive at Ecotopia. On the way, the Art and Activism Caravan is promoting the use of sustainable art as an instrument for social change. Participants will give workshops in stencil art, activist samba drumming, rebel clowning, video making, large costume making, and more.
